History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: She comes from a rich southern family. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Tricking grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Tricking. She now owns her own business.

Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She was granted psionic powers by her dying brother.
