History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Uraim was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Uraim was born on a far northern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Roofer. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born in the south. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it.
