History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. A freak accident while working with his Mercenary mother left him crippled. He struck the Scribe job and began his own company from there.

Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Oskar is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.

History: Faran hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. History: Smoking was born with her father's beautiful face. Her childhood dream was to be a Scribe, but she was a colossal failure. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.
