She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Bowyer they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Masseuse, and she later adopted a second son.

When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Servant hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. After a long history of fighting, Eva and her spouse have recently divorced.

Wiggens decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with.
