History: A powerful slaver made him what he is. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. After a long history of fighting, Gerald and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Pyntle was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Gifted from a young age, Bardryn studied abroad. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Personality: He is filled with cunning. He likes to feign weakness letting people think he is weak. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Miner hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

History: She was born into a rich family. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it
