Cory was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the drow.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has achieved small success as a Seamstress.

Motivation: Wants a kiss; and balancing her hectic life and new seamstress responsibilities is difficult

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
