However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the orcs.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Volen fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Gnomes in Warryn's homeland. Warryn decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.
