Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. As he has aged he has sought to do reparations for his actions as a youth. He is also making sure that his compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Smoking was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. She was a friend to animals and a trickster. In her defense of animals however she would do severe harm to people. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by drow. Vola was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the drow.

Personality: He trusts no one. He is not readily capable for forgiveness and his ire never leaves him. He always tries to repair and not replace. It was this mentality that drove him into the Guard business.

History: He was born into a rich family. Through the years after Valafar was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Valafar's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wants to raise his children well; and marry his brother to traveling adventurers

Personality: She tends to agree with only herself unless someone else's opinion sounds like she can profit from it. She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. She is a ruthless business woman, a trait she acquired from her father.

History: A child with a great deal of singing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered north to less war torn lands. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: She's repulsed by the PC; and to protect her home
