History: Rose lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Ploughman and was forced into it by his family.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Emen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
