During her travels, Althaea and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Althaea discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Althaea fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.
