History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Bryseis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off his debts

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
