History: She was born in the west. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Birel's homeland. Birel decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. During her travels, Sora and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic.
