He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Friendly and accommodating he would invite many more into his home than his spouse would be comfortable with if they did not express concern about it. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Roland alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Her attire stands in sharp contrast to her whip, which is beautifully polished and possesses an ornate carving of a rose on it. Her feathered hat is riddled with cuts and holes. She is missing an eye and her face is severely sunburned. Her one remaining eye shines violet.

Personality: She's a bit of a prankster. She knows she is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. She does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. While she appears to be a normal Gnome, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To end her boredom; and she seems to be bored by most things
