Personality: He loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. He takes great joy in being the best Layabout in town.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Alex grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Alex. He has worked as a Layabout like his mother before him.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: She exudes charisma. She is a tour de force of persuasion. Any perceived weakness will be pressed and exploited. She is seen as merciless and passionate.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. While she appears to be a normal Half-Elf, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. Being a Bather kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: Astar was born with his mother's beautiful face. His first spouse was a Priest, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Wants to raise his children well; and doesn't want to be a merchant and was forced into it by his family

Personality: He loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. He claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day he will do what he thinks is right.

History: Khrosh was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage.
