History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting goblins, the young Maiathah began to lead the lost caravan. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Conrad never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Dee alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has never given up on her writing dream.
