She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. Gilkass grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gilkass. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
