History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
