History: Makaria was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Expert, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a old dungeon. She would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Hugolina took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up quarterstaff and armor she uses now. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
