History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the island to a summer home near a old dungeon. He would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Veit took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up pickaxe and armor he uses now. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Miner for hire.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and to find somewhere to settle down

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He works hard and plays hard.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To end his boredom.

Personality: He can speak with the recently deceased. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Aelar was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. He has had some formal dancing training, and achieved minor success. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and wants to have a good time and be beloved
