History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Shoemaker and was forced into it by her family; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
