History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Patrin has worked very hard to control his curse. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: Gurdis hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Dwarves in Gurdis's homeland. Gurdis decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Gnomish companion (her 'brother'). She was granted psionic powers by her dying sister.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and wishes to resurrect an old love
