History: Born in the east her family was never financially stable. Hatae liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She used her abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Through the years after Meriele was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Meriele's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
