Description: This man is moderately tanned and has just the faintest trace of an accent. He wears a worn and beaten armor. His hair is chestnut, silky, and of moderate length. His violet eyes are desperate and heavily dilated. He has the appearance of someone under the heavy influence of drugs.

Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Veit is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Paela was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. A gifted student he started as a Painter, but he got bored and became a Detective. He's also a talented Painter, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Corkitron embodies much of what other species detest in the Halflings. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Corkitron was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: He uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered gnolls who tried to eat his hand. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Fabien fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: Donella is depressed about a lot of things. She tends to be a nihilist. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. The family's rival house kidnapped her sister with the intent that her sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. She now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and money/treasure
