The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. He has worked as a Cartwright like his father before him.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
