His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

History: She was born into a rich family. Thiala was born on a far northern plains where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Brewer. She now mingles about in high society.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered west to less war torn lands. She now owns her own business.
