History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. The family's rival house kidnapped her sister with the intent that her sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. After a long history of fighting, Makaria and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: Diesa was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Wizard, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Wizard in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Her childhood dream was to be a Butcher, but she was a colossal failure. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

History: Nykkan was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. His father was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
