History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. When Avice reached her early adolescence her Half-Elf mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Naill was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
