History: Born to a Stableman, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Bertram grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bertram. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: The child of a Blacksmith, who enjoyed hunting, Umpen was taken on many hunting expeditions. Umpen abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.
