History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs
