History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Trail was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Tabaxis in the north were limited. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Cecily grew up listening to her mother's many stories. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Xanaphia alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.
