History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. A gifted student she started as a Dyer, but she got bored and became a Fortune-teller. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Nyx was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.
