History: Born in the north her family was never financially stable. Through the years after Gunnloda was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Gunnloda's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Gunnloda and her spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he has money and likes to spend it

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. Being a Engraver kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: A child with a great deal of singing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
