History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. When Seraphina reached her early adolescence her Halfling mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. After a long history of fighting, Seraphina and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He disdains his fellow westerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the west. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army.

Personality: She does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. She believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: She was born in the south. Her parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when she was still a young child. The dire rats captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Wants to work out more often; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it

History: She comes from a rich western family. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: His martial talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and he desires power and/or immortality
