History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving Shane alone in the world.
