Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Born to a Sage, his mother struggled to pay the bills. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: He was raised in a forest tribe. Through the years after Uthemar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Uthemar's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
