He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Laucian and his spouse have recently divorced.

Description: This eastern woman's face is deformed and paralyzed on one side. As such, she slurs her words together. She wears a grey tunic with violet highlights, and long tan pants that bunch up around her shoes. She has wavy brown hair. Her face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. Her spectacle hidden eyes are a deep brown.

Personality: She is cool and collected. She likes to make quips and puns whenever she does anything. She also makes a point to compliment her superiors and flatter them. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Mary is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Mary has worked very hard to control her curse. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
