History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Semyaza was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered south to less war torn lands. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: She has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions
