Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She moved out south to avoid the crime she committed. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and further expansion of business
