She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Dragonborns in Gesrethe's homeland. Gesrethe decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
