History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Darrow was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her arcane abilities were realized during a raid on her village. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove her worth to the world; and she has money and likes to spend it

Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it
