History: Born in the south to a Spice Merchant, Verna learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Her childhood dream was to be a Jeweler, but she was a colossal failure. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Many illithids want her driven away; and she has a crush on the local jeweler

Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. The war was a terrible time for her, and Gurdis does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She was born in the north, but her parents moved at a very young age to the south. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Dwarves in the north were limited. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind.
