Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and he wants revenge against brigands

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.
