History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Savaran grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Savaran. She has never given up on her writing dream.

Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. His temper goes off on the smallest of things. He tends to lash out at those around him.

History: John was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Ranger, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Ranger in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Bune was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She moved out south to avoid the crime she committed. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent mother; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. The war was a terrible time for him, and Nim does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
