History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Ruler. He struck the Ruler job and began his own company from there.
