History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Paela was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
