History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Ratak was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Ratak's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Jeweler arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
