History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Bethrynna was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Bethrynna's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Description: A man with a warm, jovial air about him, he is dressed in an above average manner. His hair is red and curly. His gray eyes dart from person to person to random spaces in the air.

Personality: Varis is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Varis fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and he wants revenge against giants

Personality: He believes there is no problem he cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His first spouse was a Sculptor, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Shoemaker.

Motivation: Wants to raise his children well; and regain custody of his daughter

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the west. Shanairla was born on a far western island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Cartwright. After a long history of fighting, Shanairla and her spouse have recently divorced.
