History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. She always admired martial-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. Some 10 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Verin never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. He moved out west to avoid the crime he committed. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact
