History: Verin hails from a village terrorized by illithids. Her parents were killed by illithids in a raid when she was still a young child. The illithids captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud.
