History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Merla was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Merla's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: She tends to agree with only herself unless someone else's opinion sounds like she can profit from it. She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. Her temper goes off on the smallest of things. She tends to lash out at those around her.

History: When she was but 8 years old her parents immigrated from the east. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
